YYH Next Gen(Anna only)

"So, we're not aloud to do anything but watch? That sounds boring... What do we do if you win?"
"Would that make me a princess?"

Kurama just smiled as his two children barraged him with questions. "I don't intend on winning this tournament. I only agreed to join to make sure someone else doesn't." he explained, for what had to easily be the fifth time.

"Is it because mom would flip out if you became king of the Demon World?" his daughter asked.
"Don't be stupid, Opa." her brother scolded.

Sinopa and Todd. They were twins. While Opa was the younger and generally more inquisitive, her brother was the more outgoing of the set, though both were easily tied for being energetic.

"Are we almost there?" Opa asked, sighing.

"Almost." Kurama promised. With one child holding each of his hands, he stepped out of the portal, sighing as the familiar static air of the Demon world collided with his nose. "Just remember, you both promised not to tell your mother."

"Yessir." they said in unison, both looking around the arena they had stepped out onto. As they stepped onto the Demon world soil, their human appearances shifted, revealing fox ears and tails on the both of them. Opa's hair faded from strawberry-blond to white, her brothers hair remaining a rust colored red.

"Kurama, there you are!" a woman's voice greeted from behind. "Oh, and you brought the kits too."

Opa and Todd both let go of their fathers hands, curiously looking over their shoulders at a blue haired woman in a pink kimono. Ops stepped slightly behind her father.

Botan. She was always just too girly for Opa's tastes.

"Hello, Botan." Kurama greeted with a smile. "You remember the twins, I see."

"Yes, but it's been a while." She smiled. "Yusuke and his boy got here only an hour or so ago themselves."

"Actually if you'd take a second to look behind you I'm right here;. I've been following you the whole way back here Botan." Said Yusuke stepping out from behind her. His son Lucian stood there a little beaten up and covered in dust.

"Don't mind runt here five minutes after we arrived we got separated accidentally and he got cornered you should have seen him kick the crap out of the guys who tried to pick on him." Said Yususke with a smile rubbing his son's head.

"Ha well they deserved it dad I guess all that training you put me through paid off." Said Lucian with a grin.

"Hey don't get a thick head it's because you're in this general area you got a power boost. If you were cornered in the world of the living forget it you're mince meat kid." Said Yusuke waving off his son.

The response he got to that was a kick to the head but he caught the boy and held him upside down by his ankle while saying, "Anyways you're looking good as usual Kurama."

"And you're as loud as ever I see." Kurama smiled back at his friend. "So then I take it we're not late." A look around informed the redhead that the first rounds had yet to even begin.

"If you keep holding him like that you'll make the blood rush to his head." Opa warned, eying Lucian with a small, impish grin.
Todd laughed at his friends misfortune. "That's what he gets for taking a swing at his old man."

Yusuke blinked and dropped Lucian and the boy landed on his head with a yelp. "Ow that hurt dad!! What was that for you big jerk!!" Yelled Lucian jumping up glaring.

"Oh come on you only live once and a little brain damage won't hurt." Said Yusuke laughing. "Pfft if mom saw you do that she'd so have a cow!" Huffed Lucian.

"And that's why it stays between us. Anyways I saved us some seats lets get going." Said Yusuke flicking Lucian's forehead sending him smacking into the dirt hard as a result.

"Whoops now that was an accident." Said Yusuke laughing as his son fumed at him in anger.

Leading them to their seats Yusuke sat down and made room so Kurama could sit down with his kids and as well as Botan. "Man its been ages since I've been here almost feels like I have a second home." Said Yusuke.

"In all technicality you do." Kurama mused. Without needing to even look he reached over and caught Todds tail, stopping the boy from pouncing on his sister.

"So, how have things been for you and Kaeko? I heard you two moved to Okinawa."

"Lemme go!" Todd mannaged to pull his tail free, glaring at his father.

Opa climbed over the back of the seats, plopping herself down between her godfather and father. "You know, you promised Todd and I that we could train with you and Lucian this summer." she said, giving the elder man the stink eye.

Yusuke smiled and said, "Yeah it's a little more peaceful there in fact too quiet for my own liking. According to her the city is no place for a young boy like Lucian and then she went on saying how it affected me when I was growing up and I decided to just shut up on that matter. Times like that I learn to agree the wife is always right and go with what she says."

Hearing what Opa said though Yusuke went rigid with fear. The last summer trips events went through his mind when Lucian was nearly eaten alive by a Venus Fly Trap that the twins went and made super sized some how. Since then he was dreading this upcoming summer.

"Oh did I well I must have forget sorry slipped my mind." Said Yusuke giving a nervous laugh knowing there was no way to talk himself out of this one. He nudged Kurama for a little help.

Todd noticed Yusuke nudge his father and moved quickly, clamping a hand over his fathers mouth. "Well then we can plan this summers tonight after the fight."
"That's a perfect idea, Todd." Opa smiled. "I wonder why Uncle Yusuke didn't think of this himself."

"If it's training the kids need, you can always send them with me."

Kurama blinked, looking up over his shoulder. In the row behind them, Hiei sat with a small girl beside him. He reached up, pulling Todd's hand off of his mouth. "Hello Hiei." he greeted. "Who's this with you?"

"Hey look at that no way she can't be she's a mirror image of you Hiei. She's even got your eyes and glares just like you too." Said Yusuke with a grin.

"Shut it you incompetent fool and move over I want to watch the fighting." Said the girl as she walked past taking a seat.

Yusuke's left eyebrow twitched and he said, "Yeah that's his kid alright bad attitude and all..." Lucian laughed and said, "Dad you got owned just like always." "Keep it down you brainless mouse I'm trying to listen!" She said glaring at Lucian.

Yusuke had to grab Lucian and restrain the boy as the kid thrashed yelling, "Lemme at her I don't care if she's a girl I'll kick her stupid butt to the living world!!"

"Maybe you should just let her watch." Opa suggested blinking.

Hiei smirked lightly to himself. "My offer still stands. But only until the end of this match."

Kurama blinked, looking to Yusuke. "What do you think? Let the kids train with Hiei this summer?" he asked, sounding innocent enough. "I'm sure you could come up with a viable explanation to Kaeko at the end of the summer when Lucian returns with his eyebrows singed off." he smiled.

Opa got her emotional blackmailing skills from her father.

"No thanks she nearly had a heart attack when he came back covered in plant spit last summer. I told her nothing worse could happen to him then that so I think I'll take my chances and we can all go camping after the tournament and train the kids together." Said Yusuke.

He then clobbered Lucian and plopped the boy back into his seat saying, "Take a chill pill kid and enjoy the matches." Lucian huffed and pouted after that.

"Then you wouldn't mind taking Hinomori with you." Hiei rested his chin on the back of his hand.

"I don't see it being an issue." Kurama nodded. "I take it you didn't come just to watch?"

"Hn." Hiei looked up at the field. "It isn't even worth watching." he said flattly.

"I think it's okay." Todd blinked at the field. "I mean, if nothing else it just goes to show you what not to do, right?"

Kurama smiled at his son. "Just wait until round two. That's when things begin to get interesting."

"Yeah just as long as she don't bite anyone's head off like a dandelion. And you boy consider this your summer homework. Just watch and evaluate or you going to let the twins beat you like last year in terms of fighting?" Asked Yusuke rubbing Lucian's head smirking,

"Heck no I won't lose this time around!! I already told you I wasn't going to quit dad! I'll win this time you'll see!!" Said Lucian.

Yusuke laughed and said, "Alright good to hear least this way the old lady really can rest in peace. I have to say her knowledge really did come in handy. And I intend to pass much of it as I can to you."

Lucian just stared at the screen and said, "I doubt we'll see much with these wimps during this round to begin with. So round two I'm really going to pay attention."

Kurama glanced back at Hiei, then did a double take. "Hiei, where's your necklace?" he asked.

Hiei simply gave an upward nodding motion towards his daughter.

Kurama blinked. "Isn't that asking for trouble?"

"It is." Hiei confirmed. "That's the point."

"Hm." Kurama frowned. He looked back to the tournament, allowing his children to both climb into his lap to see over the heads of the demons in front of them.

"Dad, Todd's tail's tickling me."
"Is not." Todd huffed.

Kurama sighed, lifting Opa up onto his shoulders. "There." he said. "Now behave."

"Yessir." The twins chimed in unison.

Second round had come around and Lucian had fallen asleep half way through it his head slumped onto Yusuke's shoulder. After the so called tournament the group had gone out camping in the wilds of the demon world.

"Hey give those back they're mine!" Yelled Lucian jumping Hinomori who stole the bag of marshmallows. She just side stepped and the boy landed into a bush with a yelp. "Dad stop her!!" Yelled Lucian standing up. Yusuke said, "Learn to share squirt." As a low trash demon jumped out of the bushes after Lucian the kid screamed and fell over.

Yusuke didn't have a chance to get over when Hinomori jumped in and killed the demon with one kick. Landing she smirked and looked at Lucian saying, "What's the matter you scared you big baby?" Lucian stood up and yelled, 'SHOW OFF!!" He then went and sat by the others.

In his typical nature, Todd went to poke at the demons body with a stick. "Think we could string it up and lure out something bigger?"

Opa looked over, currently roasting two marshmellows. "Could we?" she looked to Yusuke, one ear going down while the other remained up curiously.

"Lucian! Come help me find some vines!" Todd called.



Kurama had left all the children with Yusuke, having opted to do some long-time-needed catching up with Hiei.

"Those brats are going to tear him apart." Hiei said flatly as Kurama ordered potstickers. They had come back to the human world, leaving Yusuke and the children in the demon world.

"You're still underestimating him, after all these years?" Kurama asked, clearly amused.

But Yusuke walked over grabbed the twins swinging them over his shoulder laughing as he said, "Oh no you are not luring anything gianormous over here you two wanna spar so badly then fight your uncle Yusuke. He dumped the twins on their asses and stepped back saying, "Come on bring it you little imps."

Hinomori was the first to come running in and Yusuke dodged her saying, "Oh so you wanna play rough too huh. Come on I'll take all you kids on at once."

"You asked for it dad!" Said Lucian his fist lighting up. 'YAHHHH!!" He yelled charging and a bang went off like a fire cracker in the area.

Dust blew up and Yusuke just stood there wide eyed seeing half the area demolished around him. "Why now look behind you I'm a real opponent!" Yelled Hinomori as she came aiming for a kick and Yusuke grabbed her ankle and tossed her lightly. She landed in a tree with a loud yelp. And Yusuke just bonked Lucian on the head lightly making the boy fall over crying, "OW!! OW!! OW!!!" "Hey I hear scrambled brains are a new trend this year." Said Yusuke snickering.

"Heh!"
The twins pulled a vine tight, having wound it between Yusukes legs without him noticing. They managed to topple the man and pounced, Todd grabbing an arm and Opa grabbing the opposite leg.
"HA! Gotcha!" Todd exclaimed happily.
Opa gnawed on his leg.

Yusuke landed on his back laughing as he said, "You two are something you know that. And hey I kinda need that leg Opa." He then sat up and said, "OK play time is over it's time for bed squirts." "What about you dad aren't you going to sleep?" Asked Lucian as he had the twins set next to him. Hinomori sat down as well and Yusuke shook his head.

"I'm going to keep watch while you all rest okay so everyone into your sleeping bags and make sure you're all together. As everyone got their sleeping bags together in a row Yusuke threw a blanket over them and leaned back. Soon the kids were asleep and he was able to relax a bit.

Todd and Opa ended up sleeping back to back with one another.

About half way through the night, Yusuke was pulled out of his relaxation. The sounds of the animals around them seemed to have been switched off suddenly.

Something dark passed over their camp sight, the pressure in it's wake enough to smother the fire. Todd was the first child awake, sitting up with a start, pulling the blanket off of the others, inturn causing a chain reaction.

"Why's is so dark?" Opa asked sleepily.

Todd sat stiff as a board next to his sister, his tail fluffed out. It felt like someone walkedoverhis grave.

Yusuke felt it too but noticed it was just passing over them. So he capped down his own power just in case and got close to the kids whispering, "It's alright just go back to sleep... It's just an S-Class demon passing over... they won't bother us..." Lucian on the other hand remained asleep despite the other three being woken up.

Todd frowned, pinning his ears as he lay back down. "You don't put the fire out when you pass by..." he mumbled, clearly startled still.

Opa mumbled something in response and cuddled into her brothers side. It didn't take long for them to fall back asleep....


-12 years later-

Todd frowned at his father, then down at the roll of parchment on the table in front of him. "So, what does a summons from Koenma entail exactly?" he asked hesitantly.

"Most likely it means he needs you to do something for him." Yoko responded, crossing his arms as he leaned back in his chair. He frowned. "It also most likely means your sister will be getting one as well."

Todd's ears flicked. Opa had run away from home when their mother passed away. Last he had heard, she was somewhere in the world of the living. That had been nearly 5 years ago.

"You can ignore it." Kurama said. "But who knows? This might prove to be the challenge you've been looking for."

"... Yeah, except the thought of going on a mission for Koenma makes my stomach flip... I don't like it." Todd frowned.

Yoko shrugged, standing up. "Then burn the letter and forget it ever happened. The choice is yours."

Todd stayed where he sat as his father left the room. They had moved to the demon world, his father rejoining a band of thieves... What if this was some ploy to capture his father, or him, and imprison them both?

Todd sighed, picking up the parchment.

"It's worth the risk, if Opa's gonna be there..." he decided to himself aloud.

"Lady Death, a message has arrived for you, ma'am."

Sinopa blinked, looking up from the floor plans in front of her. "A message?" she inquired, holding her hand out to take the parchment from the woman who had entered her office.

"It's from the spirit realm." the woman confirmed.

Sinopa frowned down at the seal. "Koenma..?" She looked up. "You said there was no way we were caught on film."

The woman shook her head. "There is no way, ma'am." she blinked.

Opa scowled and waved a hand, dismissing the other woman before running one slender claw under the wax. It was a summons.

She frowned.

Over the last few years, she had made a name for herself as an assassin. Could that be what this was about?

The vixen sighed, her ears drooping. "Fuck..."

"Do you think they'll come Koenma-sir?" Botan frowned.
"They'll come." Koenma said confidently, watching on screen as each letter was received. "If only to see what it is I have to say."

Lucian on the other hand was on his first year of high school by some miracle. Even though he didn't look it he had his mother's book smarts. And top it off the kid was happy having just got his driver license. He was currently going down an old highway after coming back from a trip he had taken to go see another friend. The wind felt good whipping on his face though a voice said right by his side, "Hello there Lucian I see you're doing well!" Looking he let out a startled yell seeing Botan flying right next to him laughing.

She gasped and flinched when he slammed the brakes went and hit a bump and was sent landing painfully onto his back on a patch of grass with a loud yelp. He had been wearing a helmet and he sat up yanking it off saying, "What the hell you trying to get me killed Botan!!"

"Sorry but I have a super duper special message from Koenma and it's for you!" Sang Botan holding out the letter.

Lucian snatched it away and read it saying, "Huh...? A summoning you can forget it Botan! I almost had a one way ticket to spirit world a few moments ago!" Said Lucian.

"Hey now come here I got a secret to tell you it's a special surprise if you do come." Said Botan smiling. "Oh... and what could that be?" Asked Lucian dusting himself off. "You remember your favorite two friends the twins well Opa will be there and so will her brother." Said Botan smiling.

"And I'm supposed to care let them deal with it." Said Lucian marching up the hill. "Hold on look here right at this!" Said Botan catching up. Finding the photo shoved in his nose his eyes went wide and he said, "That's her holy shit what the hell we waiting for let's go!!" He bolted back up the hill got back onto his motorcycle and sped off.

"Wow teenage hormones are sure something." Said Botan standing there a little shocked.

Todd had been the first to arrive at Koenma's office. He frowned, sitting impatiently for the others to arrive, his ears pinned flat.

"Stop fidgeting." Koenma scolded, his eyebrow twitching. "You're supposed to be Kurama's son, not Kwabara's."

"Sorry." Todd sighed, bowing his head apologetically. "But what if the others don't show?"

"Then, I'm afraid you'll have to handle this mission on your own." Koenma said flattly.

Todd frowned. "You still havn't even told me what this mission is." he snapped in annoyance.

"And I wont until the other arrive! Stop fidgeting!!!"

"What idiocy could be so important that I had to come you half pint." Said Hinamori storming in. She had become one hell of a beauty with a temper and was dressed in all black pretty much her favorite color aside from her nails. She came and sat down and sighed grumbling, "Honestly I have better things to do."

Todd stared for a moment, his ears twitching at her voice.

"Hinamori, I'm glad you could make it. Please, take a seat." Koenma said, his eyebrow twitching. "I swear, your parents never taught you children manners."

"Hina?" Todd echoed blinking. He stood up, standing easily a foot taller than her. He got his height from his father, towering at nearly seven foot tall.
