The 'Tates' Will Decide [Angel_Lass]

When morning came Tates was the last one to wake up- apparently insisstent on sleeping in,

Blika had found her way under the covers with te high priestess while its master had left. with his coat missig and what he had used a as poker for the fire as well, one wouldonly assume he had gone to get food.

Waking up didnt seem like something that had made it onto tates daily adjenda though. A short while after she desided to ask him about yalty- the large an in question came back into the cottage, his boots thundering against the wooden floor before he took them off.

hw grumbled, pulling off ihs coat and shifted the large poker. sckewrn on it was what looked ilike a skinned and gutted hog.

"Then sleep." Yalty instructed, making his way into the kitchen. He carried the poker over his shoulder like it was nohing more than a night sack, the meaton the end of it causing the irn rod to bow.

he dumped it into the sink and pulled out a cleaver, preparing to butcher the meat before looking over into the living room at the two of them again. He paused and instead set to making coffee. Northerners like himself and tates often refered to it as southern strong tea.

""Boar." he stated as he set the coffee to brew. "And this is ambrosia." he stated pulling a small plant from his large pocket. "One of the few things tates ill willingly eat. That and mellons." he mused getting back to work in the kitchen.

Blinka purred happily, being pampered by such gental hands was a rare treat for the feline.

"That cats my fimaliuar. Normaly pretty well tempered... just dont touch his whiskers."

"Hell scratch you." yalty said simply. "H doesnt like they being touched since tates cut them off as a cruel joke."

Blika head butted the priestess chin fondly, curling up to sleep in he nook of her elbow and chest, purring happily all the while.

tates rolled over in his sleep, pausing mid shift wearing a grimice on his fae before setteling back into place.

Tates eventualy relaxed, setteling back down into the futon.

"By tonight he wont have a scratch on him." Yalty said from where he stood. "He has a knack for that..."

"... 10 years or so." he mused. "We were in a war togeter." he stated. "If it werentfor him stepping in I would most likely be dead." he added. "I feel guilty though..." he began cuttingthe meat. "If I had known him before he lost hismemory I would have ben able to help him recover it." he glanced over. "He woke up with complete amnesia... He'd never adimt it but even speaking was an issue at first."

Seemed odd. He had admitted to memory loss- and mentioned a war. and even Yalty wasnt giving ay exact details on how he had been hit.

"... Tates and I were on opposite sides. It was just a petty religious fuede.... I was helping a fallen comrad and someone attempted to get me while my back was turned.... Tates stepped in."

"Im sure he asks himself that question every night." yalty assured her with a smile. "Whatever the reason- Im glad."

Yalty let the priestess brood as he cooked, glancing over when he heard fabric shift.

Tates sat up- about an hour after their little chat, his dark hair hanging in his eyes. It gave him a much more pubesent look than usual. Perhaps because it dulled the sharp edges of his features.

"Good morning sunshine." Yalty called into tates mockingly. "Have a pleasent nap?"

Tates shook his head- tossinghis hair out of his face, rubbing the sleep from his eyes blinkingsleepily. "How long was I out...?"

"a good 24 hours." The giant replied. "Hungry?"

"Ravenous..." he said rubbing his chest before looking to the priestess. "... hi." he greeted sleepily- the wounds on his chest narly totaly healed.

"Tired..." he said frowning, looking up at Yalty suddenly. "Wheres my-"

The giant discretly pointed to his sword, resting neatly on a small tabel. Though nothing was really small in the house. It was all relative.

"Oh.." he breathed out a sigh of relife.

Her thoughts were pulled away from her frustrations as tates stood up- stepping over her to grab his sword, tiring it his hip before pickingu the shirt yalty had lef out. it was huge.... hardly stayedon him- but nesicary even for him in the cold.

"You cant be serious." yalty frowne putting this cleaver down. "Its blizzarding out there worse than ever." he scolded.

"Ill be fine." tates said searching for his jacket.

"An the miss?" he raised an eyebrow.

"..." tates blinked and looked down at her. His soft juvinile features were gone- replaced again by his cold stern face. "Would you rather stay here another day?" he asked. "We can wait out the storm."

Yalty frowned. "You can like the cold all you want." he said chopping the meat- making bikka jump. "But even you would ceatch yoru death in this. Snow nymphs are working hard to cover someones tracks IM sure." he mused.

Tates frowned over his shoulder at he large man- giving him a clear 'please shut up' sort of look.
