| ------------------------------------------ 1949:.
"There is no where else we can take her.." A stern voice carried it's way down the hallway, a figure on the steps with her knee's curled up to her chest listened. "She's not all there, there is nothing we can do." The woman's voice sounded demanding, "God knows I've tried."
Cara sniffled, tear's running down her cheeks. Oh daddy, why do you listen to her? She stood up quietly, and walked down the steps- only pausing when the steps creaked. When she heard no one coming out of the room, she continued down the stairs. She grabbed a bag that she had placed next to the door, she slipped on her shoes- and unlocked the door. Pausing for a moment, breathed out, and pushed the door open. She shut it quietly behind her, and then ran. Ran as quickly as she could.
She had no idea where she was going, but she wasn't about to let her step mother send her off to God knows where. She wasn't a bad child, well behaved, kept to herself. She and her father had grown distant since her mother's death, mainly because she looked so much like her mother. But that wasn't her fault, she loved her father.
Darkness was all around her, only the dim street lights lighting her way. She already felt cold, she hugged her bag to her chest and slowed to a walk. And started to look around, they lived in a small town, so she knew she had to get out of here before anyone recognized her. Maybe she would head for the city? She stopped, and looked up to the sky, rain drops starting to pour down. "I.. I don't know what to do.." The tears started to flow again.
"You there, what are you doing out so late?" A cop stepped out of a car that she hadn't even noticed stop. "How old are you? You're out way past curfew." He stated, as he walked towards her.
Cara panicked, she knew he would take her straight home. But she didn't know if she could out run him either. "I..." She blinked, and took a step back as he approached her. She quickly spun on her heel, and took off down an alley way. She needed to get away, she had to get away. If she got caught, she would be sent away for sure. And not to a place of her choosing.
The cop quickly caught up with her, and grabbed onto her arm- pulling her back. "What the hell!" He snapped, "Why would you run from me? Hey, you're the Jones daughter aren't you? Well you're in trouble young miss."
"Please-" She pleaded, "You can't take me back home.." She clenched her bag to her chest, and lightly sobbed. She knew this man didn't care what her story was, he was going to do his job.
It wasn't long before she was standing on her doorstep next to the police man, her step mother answering the door- looking to Cara with a scowl. "And what has she done now?" She sneered, looking to the police officer.
"I found her down a couple blocks, and she ran from me. I'm letting her off with a warning, you should watch your daughter." He didn't care for the tone Mrs. Jones was using.
"She's not my daughter."
"She's not my mother." They seemed to say at the same time.
The officer huffed, and bowed his hat to the woman. "There is a curfew, keep her inside at night." He said, before walking down the driveway to his car. He didn't even seem to care.
Mary grabbed Cara by the ear, and dragged her inside. "Oh you witch!" She screamed, "You now how hard we work on our reputation around here? You just don't care about anything do you? I am so sick of you're attitude! Me and you're father have found it best that you go to Greensville, there is a place there suited for you." She smirked lightly, "Better start packing your things, dear." She let go of Cara, and gave her a shove to get her away from her. "Mind your manners." She said as she heard Cara's father approach.
"What happened?" He questioned, looking worn out. "Why are you soaked Cara?"
"I... I heard you two talking, daddy- please.." She teared up again, "Please don't send me away! I'm not bad, I swear daddy- I just got scared.. I was trying to leave before you sent me away.."
Harry frowned, and rubbed his temple lightly- and he let the air out of his lungs with an exhausted huff. "Cara, you need some special attention since your mother passed.. And well, I just don't know what to do. With the increasing behavioral problems we've been having- I have no choice."
"Daddy, I don't have problems! I knew mother was sick, I knew she was going to leave us.. I don't need to go away- please daddy.." She tried to grab for his hand, but he moved it back. "Daddy.."
Mary stepped in between them, and took a hold of Harry's hand. "You're being so strong, I am so proud of you." She smiled, reassuring him that he was making the right choice.
------------------------------------------------ The next morning...
Cara remained quite as her father, and step mother spoke with staff members. She blanked out what they were saying, she just didn't care anymore. Maybe she did belong here. Cara glanced down at her hands, she felt like crying, but knew there was no point.
"Cara." Mary's stern voice snapped her out of her thoughts, "Come here." She pointed, like Cara was some sort of animal. "Oh, and on top of everything- she is horrid at listening.."
Cara frowned, and fallowed after them. Hearing the buzzing noise as they walked through a secure gate. The eerie noise of the florescent lights, some flickering. The brick walls added to the cold dreary feeling. She walked behind them as they spoke, only to be stop, and a bracelet put on her wrist. She let them do as they pleased, she felt like she was broken. There was nothing else she could do. Her step mother had won, and gotten rid of her.
"We'll come visit, Cara." Her fathers voice seemed distant. "The doctors will take good care of you." He made it sound like it was a good thing she was now in a insane asylum.
Cara didn't respond, she just looked down. Which in turn made Mary grumbled, "You're doing thr right thing sweetie, look at her. She needs their help. She's not the daughter you used to have. But they can fix her." That's when her tone turned from anger, to a bit of joy. "We'll visit Cara. Listen to your doctors now." And that was it, the two left her- she watched them walk away. Daddy.. How could you?
"Come this way." A young nurse spoke to Cara, only receiving a nod from the girl. She fallowed mindlessly, she didn't care. She was taken to a small room with two bed's and a night stand. The walls were white, and the windows barred. The door was metal, and had a small thick gated glass window. And huge locks. "This is where you will be staying, and you will be meeting your room mate during lunch. Your assigned number is 0086721. Remember that."
A number, she was only a number. Cara nodded, and stepped into the room, setting down her small suitcase on the empty bed. She pondered for a moment what her room mate would be like, was she crazy? Well shouldn't everyone in an asylum be crazy? She sure felt crazy..
"Now come this way, lunch is starting soon."
Cara paused, and then turned- walking out of the room and fallowed the nurse down the hall. They stopped at another door, and had to be buzzed through. They walked down another hallway, and into the dinning hall. The nurse was explaining things as they went, but Cara just blocked her out. "You will be seat at table eleven. Your room mate will sit across from you." She then left to tend to other things.
Cara glanced around the room, and then quietly walked over to the table, and sat down. She didn't feel hungry at all, but her stomach rumbled.
---------------------------------------------------------------- OOC: [MATURE] So basically she got put in an insane asylum, inspired by SuckerPunch. But not basing it on the movie.. Just made me want to do an insane asylum RP. Anyone can join, no one lining. Bring in any character you like. OPEN. | |

| A young woman sat at one of the tables. Her steel blue eyes focused intently on her pale folded hands. They rested neatly atop the smooth, empty surface of the table. Her bracelet was worn, the edges tattered and the only visible part of the tag being her number, 0062463. Elizabeth had been here for what seemed like ages. She wasn't sure, anymore. Her sense of time was distorted. Her day was made up of blocks of time. Time she was locked in a room, time she was walking to another locked room, time in which she could eat. It was a depressing sort of life, but one she had grown accustomed to.
The girl came from a wealthy family, and had very few things of interest in her history. They called her delusional, Eliza preferred the term 'gifted.' She had a very artistic nature, and a vivid imagination that she was blessed with keeping after childhood. Blessed in the sense it provided her amusement in the facility, cursed in that she would not have ever stepped foot in the horrid place if she didn't have the habit of letting her fantasies run wild.
Thick, curly locks of ebony colored hair fell to right above her shoulders, the wispy ends tickling her bare collar bone. She wore a dress that fit a little too loosely on her, a testament to her hatred for the asylum's food. She was quiet, but not unapproachable. Though gaunt and pale from lack of proper sunlight she seemed friendly enough. Eliza was just especially mindful of the rules. A habit that marked her lengthened stay, her obedience having been something the staff worked tirelessly for.
When Cara was ushered in by the familiar nurse, Eliza's curiousity was peaked. The other girl seemed healthy enough, sure, but she wasn't much sure what that meant anymore. Human contact was a little hard to gauge when you didn't know if the person across from you murdered someone, or just fell prey to an unfortunate set of circumstances. | |

| Cara walked over to the open seat, across from a frail delicate looking figure. She sat down lightly, almost scared to make eye contact with this stranger. She placed his hands in her lap, and looked down- staring down the bracelet and that number printed on it. She felt a wave of anxiety, sending chills down her spine. She felt like screaming, but what good would that do her? Another girl was already screaming anyways, and there was no way she could out scream that girl. Her horrid shrill of a scream made Cara's stomach turn.
"Shut up!" Another woman snapped, "Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" She started to scream as well, which made more of the patients lash out. Quickly staffed rushed in, needles in hand. They subdued a few of them, while the others quickly became quiet. Several girls who resisted were thrown down, sat on- and their faces held to the ground as they were injected with a clear liquid.
"Oh my god.." Cara managed to whisper, her voice barely a sound. She was horrified by what she was witnessing. Such brutality. She quickly looked down again, and was thankful she didn't scream. Where have you left me father?
A limp body was dragged by their table, two staff members holding her up. The other girls were soon to fallow, one still trying to struggle- but was failing miserably at it. An eerie silence was all that was left after the door buzzed, and slammed shut. | |

| Eliza giggled nervously as the commotion broke out. She paused for a moment, thinking on the action. Maybe there is something wrong with me. The sound of the girls legs dragging across the floor was familiar, and it took all the effort she had in her body not to make a comment that would give her the same fate. The fate she'd dealt with many times before.
She bit her lip, chewing on it silently until the noise had passed and the door slammed. She looked at Cara curiously, for the first time since she had sat down. Her large blue eyes glancing her over carefully. "Are you alright?" Her tone was concerned, fists still clenched together tightly atop the table. "It won't happen to you, don't worry. You seem good. You seem normal." Her voice was quiet, a pale comparison to the sing song tone it held in her childhood. Her word selection seemed a bit strange, though she meant nothing by it aside from attempting to bring momentary comfort. She remembered how rough it was at first. She knew until these things became life, it was unsettling and downright scary. The only thing this place had 'cured' her of was the normal depth of human emotion. Nothing phased her now. | |

| Cara glanced over at Eliza, cautiously scanning her over with her eye's. "Um.." She managed to whisper out, her throat felt tight, and her mouth dry. "I'm.. Okay." She glanced away nervously, she had no idea who this girl was- or why she was here. She was scared, and her timid appearance shown. She nervously played with her hand in her lap. "I don't feel normal.. But what is normal anymore?" She questioned, her voice quiet. Looking Eliza in the eye's, though she didn't like making eye contact.

| "Huh." Eliza looked taken aback by this statement. Again, a light chuckle was given. "I honestly couldn't tell you, miss. I'm terribly sorry though." She processed her thoughts carefully before speaking slowly, "I suppose there is no 'look' that describes normality, or what that may be." Eliza smiled in a friendly manner, "So it wouldn't surprise me if you happened to be a murderer, a burglar perhaps?" She trailed off, her mind running rampant with it's own assumptions and explanations for Cara's sudden appearance. She stopped, realizing that she probably was making her uncomfortable. "You needn't tell me though." She was often told she needed to mind her manners, but Eliza couldn't help her curiousity.
