How Soon Is Now?

(( just alittle RP idea I have, its kinda set on another planet, but its not really all that futuristic, kinda features slightly advanced guns, cars, computers. but the style of clothing is medievil-espque and that the more advanced soldiers, or whatever you want to think of are melee weapon users. its slightly final fantasy-esque but not too much. Right now I dont have any limitations on anything, but I might come up with some if I feal that it should have some lol))


Vahn was a Young ,strong willed, carefree, warrior.he had fought with the ressitance army, "Damascus Wings", a small band of ex soldiers, mercenaries, assassins, and so on. they have been fighting for their freedom for nearly 200 hundred years, especially with the Army of Paradox, a large ,bustling city that was protected by its god, Parluza. it was 100 years ago that a group of specialised knights called " The Paradox Knights" entered the war, they had victory over many battles, but so did the Wings. no one really knew how or why the Paradox Knights were created, but they were a band of warriors not to underestimate

Vahn walked along the more enclosed streets of Paradox. A parade was going on ,celebrating a more recent battle. " the battle at the Red Stone Cliffs' was one of the more tide shifting battles that the Knights won, for it did give the resistance a mighty blow. that was almost 15 years. Vahn's parents were part of the Paradox knights, his Father is a General, His mother died in the battle, for which vahn doesnt know how she died. he left home to join the resistance group, thinking, and knowing at first hand experience that the government of Paradox was corrupt. he walked along the empty street remembering when he was marked as a "Power Vessel", he did not understand what that meant, but he did know that he had various powers, that were of none human type.

"this is it...if I can reach the gate, hitch on a truck, I'll be out of this backwater city" he thought. "search the area!...He hasn't gotten far" vahn could hear the distant call, and thus he ran to the entrance,"I'm not gonna fight!" thught with an angered expression

Sumiko was pissed off.

Stupid parade... clogs up the street. i'm just trying to get to the damn tavern. Get the hell out of my way, imbeciles.

Paradox was not her type of city, she was beginning to discover. Too many people, going in too many different directions at the same time. It agitated her, and when Su got agitated, it was not a pretty sight. She growled when someone bumped into her; the sound came out sounding rather feral. the girl looked at her, frightened and disturbed, and backed as far away from Su as she could get. Finally, Su pushed her way out of the crowd into a back alley.

Damn stress... Too many people packed way too close.

She pulled a cigarette out of her boot and lit up. As soon as she took the first drag, her nerves calmed and the edginess she was feeling melted away. She continued down the alley to the next street. The tavern was just a few streets up, by the city's front gates.

Figures... When I come through the back, what I want is at the front.

She continued walking, a little more briskly now. She could have just transformed into her wolf form. Probably would have been faster. But the cigarette kept her tied to her human form.

Damn nicotine... My obsession would probably kill any normal person. But I'm far from normal. I could probably start snorting a ton of crack a day and still be as healthy as a triathalon contestant.

The truth was, her bad habits with the cigarettes and beer hadn't taken any toll on her body whatsoever. The werewolf gene kept her from getting sick, and she healed like nobody's business.

When she was a couple streets over, she heard a yell.

Search the area!...He hasn't gotten far!

Su cocked her head to the side.

Hmmm... Finally, some real action.

She snuffed out her cig on the wall of a building and started running full-speed toward the gate. She came out of the alley behind two large army men. She was tiny in comparison but there were no worries there; she could take them both out in seconds. She may be small, but she was a firecracker. She spotted a young man off to the right, running away from the guards.

That guy is running from the guards for a reason. Well, I always did have a problem with authority figures...

She ghosted silently up behind the first guard and punched him in the neck, knocking him out cold. The second guard noticed this quickly; he ran up behind Su and locked her arm into a vicegrip behind her back. Su smirked and counter-grabbed him; with one quick flip of her hand, a sharp crack was heard from the guard's wrist. He yelped as she turned around and swept his feet out from under him with her leg. He fell to the ground, moaning. Su straightened up quickly and ran toward the guy.

Follow me, pal.

She ran around the front of a cargo van and around to the other side, slipping into the tavern as the truck passed, orchestrating a perfect sleight of hand.

Vahn nodded"thank you for your help" he replied. he followed the Sumiko,"Name is Vahn...Vahn Bishop..." he retorted. he looked around, he actually got there far more quickly than he thought. he didnt hop on the cargo van."I'll get myself a drink while I'm here." he looked around."no doubt more of them will come...doesnt matter now though." he looked at her."would you care for a drink?" he asked ,smiling.

Sumiko shrugged one shoulder.

' was no big deal, I've been lookin for a little ass to kick lately anyway.

She breathed in deeply, loving the smell of the tavern. She registered Vahn asking her if she wanted a drink.

Hell yeah I do!

He smiled." one beer and a glass of milk." he then handed the bartender the right amount of money. he then brought the drinks to the far darkened corner of the tavern." I can see your not a paradox citizen..and your not here for the parade...so what brings you here?" he asked taking a sip of his glass of milk

Su swigged down the beer in three swift chugs. She set the mug down roughly, wiped her mouth, and let off a massive belch.

Oooh, that was a good one.

She grinned, shrugged, and answered his question.

I'm a loner. I travel around, hitting each city for food. Looks like a picked a bad time to hit this one up. I really hate big crowds. Ugh. too many people...

Her face puckered in disgust.

he sighed." at least your not part of a corrupt elite squad that does nothing but fight an army that just wants freedom from Paradox...I am..well was a member of the paradox knights...those are the guards you took down...you must quite powerful." he then realised somethin." your not part of the Damascus wings are you?" he asked curiously

Su tilted her head.

Na... Never even heard of them. Who are they?

She played with her mug, running her finger around the rim. She caught the bartender's eye and raised her mug. He came over with a pitcher of beer.

On you, of course.

She grinned at Vahn tauntingly.

his eyes widened."ofcoursre you saved my butt back there." he said."they are a resistance Army...they want to break from Paradox's grip of control from this country...you must have heard of the Battle at The Red Cliffs....my mother fought there...she died." he looked down."thats what the parade is celebrating...if you ask me its just a load of crap" he then looked out of the window and sighed

Sumiko smiled at him.

Your mother sounds like a valiant woman. Sounds like someone I could have been great friends with. And hell yes, I saved your ass. Don't your forget it.

Su didn't realize she was being mean. That was just her personality: a little rough around the edges, didn't give a damn what anyone thought. She would be herself no matter who it was she was talking to or who's feelings it hurt. And if people couldn't deal with that... Well then she could just move on. She'd done it countless times before.

Vahn then had an idea." hey why not come and join the resistance?" he asked."I'm pretty sure a Wolf like you might have some info...I mean you did beat down 2 paradox knights as if they were just toys...I'm joining myself...they may want a power vessel on their team" Vahn smiled. Vahn was a carefree,kind young man, that always saw the good in people, which makes him against violence and fighting, but he will if its a last resort. he held great power, which was still untapped. this was a big loss for the paradox knights

Su's face twitched at the thought of joining any organized team.

Ehhh.... Vahn... I'mmore of a loner myself... Never been much of a team player.

Her mind wandered back... Back to her pack... The pack she had abandoned.

But Su! We NEED you! YOU are our leader! I can't do this on my own! I'm not as strong or as smart as you.
Don't sell yourself short, Mina. I know you can do this. I'm just not cut out to lead this pack. I have to find my own way in the world. I hope you can understand that. This pack is yours now. See ya around.

She shuddered back into the real world and her face crumpled as she remembered this exchange with her older sister.

"look at this as a...way to make money...I mean I'm pretty sure they could give you jobs...if you won't join then why not help us?" he asked, not taking no for an answer." besides there are 5 paradox knights entering as we speak" he then got up." I know of a back way" he said motioning her to follow him

Su grimaced.

Well.... I do need the money... Let's see what this is all about.

She stood to her feet.

" stop!" shouted one of the knights' Vahn quickly ran out. when sumiko followed he pushed the Dumpster up against the door. he then looked over at the parked van that was about to drive off." lets hop on that" he smirked as he jumped on

Sumiko was aware of the guard before he pushed the Dumpster.

Bastard.

She ran out the door and hopped onto the truck, holding on to the railing like it was effortless. She smirked at the dumbfounded guard.

Vahn laughed." hahaha sucker!" he shouted sticking his tongue out."it will be an hour journey...I think I need some rest" he said lying down

Su nodded somberly and sat down, leaning against the wall of teh cargo hold. She leaned her head back against the wall.

When was the last time I slept? Hasn't been since I've been in the city.

She grimaced. She didn't enjoy that part of travelling alone. Sleep was a rae luxury that she couldn't afford most of the time. As was food. And beer. Cigarettes as well. But she couldn't stand being around people for very long. So it was a toll she'd have to live with.

vahn looked around, he sighed." so...I take it you travel...di you have a Home?...a Family?" vahn asked with curiousity looking directly at her

Sumiko nodded tiredly.

Yehh... I used to have a big...family.
If you consider a pack a family. Which I do.

She shrugged.

But... There were some irreconcilable differences. So I took off. Been on my own ever since.

the night sky came, Vahn smiled."the only family I got was my father...but he always treated me as a soldier...me joining the resistance won't make it any better." he laughed nervously

Su shrugged.

I've got this theory that parents don't really want what is best for you. They just want to mold you into mini versions of themselves. Screw that. That's a big reason I left. I never want to turn into my mother or my father. My mother, who is afraid of everything, and my father, who beat us and left when things got too hard. Well. I guess I'm already more like my father than I ever wanted to be.

Her voice was thick with anger and bitterness at the end of her little soliloquy. She'd never really opened up to anyone that much, but once the words were flowing, they spouted out of her like a volcano that had lain dormant for centuries.

Vahn looked at sumiko and then looked down." I guess so...but my mother...she always wanted me to follow my own path...even if it meant I would become a knight...she would argue with dad countless times...they never spoke after he performed the "ceremony" on me though" he said as he looked at his sword, almost smiling at it

Su tilted her head to the side.

The ceremony?

Yeah she was prying. But she didn't care. He couldn't say something like that and then not explain. It just wasn't fair.

"the black harvest ritual...members who have natural heightened attributes are considered Power vessels...the ritual is used to blend the black harvest plant extract into said members...thus giving them superhuman powers...I kind of had a more than they bargained for reaction." he laughed nervously." but I can't seem to tap into it...some said that it would kill me if I ever did"
