.:History:Edward has lost almost everything he had held dear when he performed alchemy's greatest taboo,human transmutation. When their mother passed away from an illness she had been hiding from her sons, Edward and Alphonse, the two found themselves orphens. Edward became head of the family due to the fact that their father Holenhiem had dissappeared years earlier. With a grief filled mind and heart, ed decided to bring their mother back. Later that year they found a teacher named Isumi to teach them alchemy and after a year of study the came back to their hometown of Resembool to perform the fobidden alchemy. The cost for the taboo was Edward's left leg and Alphonse's whole body. Edward took the armor in the corner and not wanting to lose the last tyes to his family bound his little brother's soul to the armor, giving his right arm in payment. Later when Alphonse awoke he found the thing that was suppose to be thier mother dead in the middle of thge room and his brother going unconcious from the blood loss. He rushed Edward to their family friend's the Rockbells and begged for them to help. They bandaged him up and when Edward woke he asked for automail,a kind of metal prostetic, to be put on him. When the automail was done and placed on his body, they burned down their family home and left their hometown to venture for a mythical stone that would help them get their body's back to normal.
