Something odd had happened that night when all the persocoms froze. It lasted around 27 minutes. No amount of stimuli made Kaname react and Nagisa tried everything, even so far as attempting a force reboot.
When Kaname’s garnet orbs finally dulled and he focused again, she'd feared someone had hacked his OS and erased his data.
“Lady Tsuyuri, are you well? Would you like me to transport you home?” Kaname repositioned himself before her, arms held at his sides, body perfectly erect. He cast a wary glance, “All is secure, we have—”
Nagisa reached out and grasped his arm, “Don't you remember what happened?”
His stare was that of mild confusion, “I remember a voice, that is all.”
Nagisa had since then upgraded his OS, with the most advanced firewall reminiscent of the legendary Chobits series.

One day, the family headed to the Hanami festival. But the limo was blocked by SUV’s. Men rushed out. Surrounding the vehicle.
Gunfire broke out.
Kaname activated a self defense mechanism, allowing him into lethal mode. He existed the vehicle, cleared the path so that the family chauffeur could drive to safety.
Kaname remained, destroyed the SUVs and dispatched the men. He'd gotten banged up and shot himself, but that wasn't an immediate concern.
Soon, police sirens echoed in the distance.
Before the cop cars arrived at the scene, Kaname had left, it began to rain suddenly and it would do no good to his exposed cables and wires. He'd took shelter beneath an awning, his energy levels depleting after the sun disappeared behind the storm clouds.
He stared at the horizon, “I won't last long without the light.”
Leaning against the wall, he closed his eyes.
