Skylines and Timelines (Angel only!)

Skylar sat on her porch, watching the sun set with a small smile. She was a young woman.. just barely over 20, with long dull hair and fair skin. All in all she was rather plane to look at, sitting in her jeans and button up shirt.

However if someone were to look deeper they would know she was so much more.

Skylar De Leathe- descendant of Saint Michael. Through her veins coursed poison to vampires, and salvation to those who feared them- though humans and vampires co-exsisted without most humans realizing it.

She looked up at the wooden ceiling that followed the wrap around porch before standing, glancing at her watch. It had been an hour now she was sitting out there, allowing herself to be lost in her own thoughts. Soon her guest would arrive though.

With a small sigh, she retreated inside and got to work, preparing a glass of water and two pills for her guest. She'd received a letter asking to meet with her about something apparently urgent. Vampire or not, she would never turn someone away who so courgerly asked for her help.

「Horror...nice! XD」



The heavans displayed a beautiful mural of water colors. The gleaming, golden, topaz eye was sinking, sleepy behind the city. The clouds blushing rosey as her day light faded. A deep anticipating stir tugged at Serus Craven's heart as his deep, claret hues watched the sky. His handsome visage was soft, a smile playing at his lips as he kept his gaze up at the twilight. Always did he view mother nature as a fascinating reality. Especially when crystalline rain drops fell from the grey clouds, shattering like glass to the earth, connecting to it, like a heart connecting to another -despite never reaching eachother, but the link was there. He saw it, and was always deeply intrigued by it.

And she fell asleep. Her sister would be trailing behing to consume the atmosphere -this too he found beauty. Even if it granted another wish.

Night wasn't so far away.

Turning his attention from the alluring nature, the pureblood eyed a particular, white, single structure that stood. Quiet, and within its walls a presense waiting.

As the last of the few remaining bats re-absorbed within his tall, dark frame, the seemingly twenty-three year old male, began to walk the rest of the way. In his hand, he held but a single, red rose he'd picked out the garden. A gift to the maiden who'd accept in assisting his affair.

At hailing distance from the house, that appeared something out of a history book, and appealing to his taste, the pureblood could already smell her. Earth sighed, a cool breeze, blowing tendrils of his inky, black hair across his brow. Whipping his long, ebony coat out behind his legs, he quickened his stride, ever so slightly.

Soon, he reached the steps. Knocking on the door with the lightest of touch he awaited her welcoming.

「I'm sorry if it sucks, my rping skills are rusty and despite the years in doing this I don't think I've improved much. ^^;」

Skylar looked to the door when she heard the knock, standing up and removing the tea pot form the old cast iron stove she had set near the fireplace.

She opened the door and blinked, offering a smile to the new arrival. "Good evening." she greeted, swinging he door open wider. "Please, come in." she invited, stepping aside so he could enter.

She had already arranged the living room he stepped into for their meeting, two chairs and a small coffee table with snacks and tea, as well as a tall glass for his particular tastes.

She wore a high collared brown dress with white lace cuffs and lining. Old fashioned, though it suited this woman who was known as a world renowned exorcist.

「You just gave me an idea on what his request would be!」

The first thing the vampire did when she opened the door was offer her the rose, smiling gently, politely as he entered after she told him so.
"Good evening miss," he replied, his tone silken and simultaneuosly gritty. The garnet orbs of his eyes glinting at the light's faintest touch as he peered at her for the first time. She was like a flower, the very rose she held. Alluring but hurtful if you held it by the thorn. There was an inner strength he could see emanating from her aura -it was what required her job.
Accessing his surroundings, the pureblood was a bit surprised at how warm and welcoming the house was. Giving him the feeling like he'd been here before. A nostalgic feeling that tugged at his heart. Crossing the threshold to the living room he would seat himself, then begin on stating his reason his visit.

"This may or may not seem parculiar to you. I've heard you've met many of the spirits that you've come across," Serus said, his eyes meeting her jade green ones. "There's a tree in my garden, a Cherry Blossom tree. It's been blooming out of season, I've seen the spirit that inhabitid the tree as well, the strangest thing, she also appears in my dreams. She told me to come here, and see you." He hadn't wanted to frighten her, but the rest of the message would. Choosing his words carefully the pureblood calmly continued, "She informed me of a certain group of people. They wish to bring you misery, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but if I don't warn you now...then that future will surely come to pass. You must leave this house and go into hiding, they are coming for you."

Serus sighed, a deep resentment crossing his features as he remembered what the spirit had shown him. A future empy, broken and lifeless. But things could change, nothing was ever for certain.

「it's okay lol」

Skylar spun the rose in her hands gently, peering down at the red petals before turning her gaze up to her guest.

"A spirit that can change nature is always considered powerful. Though, rarely with good intentions." she sat down, crossing her legs at her ankles as she set the rose down, careful not to cut herself on it's thorns. "Did she mention her name, or what group of people might want to hurt me?" she asked, picking up her cup of tea slowly and purposefully.

She didn't want to come across as rude.... However, she had received hallow threats in the past. She was not about to abandon her home and become a recluse because a stranger claimed to have been visited by an unnamed spirit who wanted her safe. No, she woudl need some form of proof for that sort of decision to be made.

She didn't seem scared. She wasn't. What was the use of being afraid of some nameless enemy? It would only lead to paranoia.

She set down the teacup and stood up from her seat. "It's only 6...." she said looking to her clock.

She sighed, picking up the rose, toying with it for a moment before placing it on her mantel, turning her green eyes to her guest. "Alright." she said. "I see no harm in leaving this house." she said. "Just allow me a few minutes to pack a bag." she requested.

When he nodded she breeze her way over to a small door, pulling out an old duffel bag that clipped at the center, slipping her feet into a pair of short heeled boots before making her way to the staircase. "I won't be long." she promised. "Feel free to try and relax for the few minutes."

"It doesn't much matter what I say, does it?" She guessed, looking up a bit apprehensively.

「Yeah, um I was baby sitting my little niece and I saw the book: ∴ARTEMIS FOWL -THE ARCTIC INCIDENT∴ I picked it up and was floored. It's a children's book that's so EPIC! Unfortunetly I haven't finished reading it. But I know how it ends (I spoil myself lol) I imagined Butler looking like Nigel Barker. Sexy XD I call him!」

Serus turned to the girl and told her to brace herself, it was going to be a fast ride.A Maximum Ride.「XD」He raised his arms to release more than a dozen fluttering shadow bats from his flesh. They would engulf the girl, raising her up heavan wards. In mere seconds, she would be 50 feet off the earth, he transported her to his manor.

Entering through the terrace of his study, the pureblood released her gently upon a lounge chaise, then willed the bats away. They flew out from the terrace, only to hang about the many trees surrounding the estate. For precautious matters.

Serus told the young lady that she would be sleeping in the guest chamber and even be provided with a chamber maid. Also, that she was free to go wherever she desired.

Skylar was a bit frazzled when she was first set down, quickly composing herself and flattening her dress, shaking a small bat out of her skirt with a frown. "From now on, we take a car." she said, deciding them and there air travel was not for her.

"How long do you intend for me to stay?" she asked, pulling her long hair up and out of her way now that it was a tossed mess. The action exposed her long pale neck, delicately curving into her slim shoulders.

「X3 okie dokie. I'll look it up. I like Artemis Fowl so far, an eigth book is coming out soon (the last) and a movie! I'm seeing that one. I was even thinking that it should be a movie whilst reading it lol. You've read Maximum Ride series? Is it true Fang dies?! I <3 him. T-T」

He caught the little bat in his fingers as it flapped away, nearly getting crushed beneath the fabric of her dress.

"If that's your wish, then it can be arranged…”

The pureblood murmured staring at the little black bat as he absorbed it into his hand. Then he walked to his desk, and sat behind the mahogany object, hearing her as she asked a question.

"You will remain here until due time. I'll be investigating this case and finding who's responsible." The pureblood leveled his chocolate, wine red eyes at Skylar, "You're safe here." He reassured her with a gentle, smile. He noticed the ivory flesh of her suculent neck, an invitation no vampire could resist. Yet he did, not even staring but aware of her pulse. The pureblood distracted himself from thinking about the little burning sensation consuming his throat, and he reach for the phone sitting at his left. He dialed a number, calling Luria, the chamber maid up to his study. When he hung up the phone, he informed the young woman that she'd soon be getting dinner and her promised room. "Luria will be here to assist you shortly, I would, but there are some important matters that need my attention -hope you don't mind." Again, the pureblood was just as polite as ever, he asked her to be excused whilst he finished some urgent paperwork from the Council.

Averting her gaze for obvious reasons he commenced on getting started. He had plans to change the way the council worked and in order to do so, had to re-gain his high status in the council.

She didn't argue with her host, leaving his office and standing in the hallway to wait for the maid. She set her bag down and sighed slightly, sitting down. Oh what she woudl give to have finished her cup of tea.

Skylar waited patiently, playing with the hem of her dress. She was a pleasant young lady, though like most humans had her problems. Hers just so happened to revolve around health. Blood sugar issues and a low immune system, the woman was physically as dainty as she looked. It was spiritually she was strong, able to even send goblins running for the hills when she pulled out her tools.

Skylar stood up adjusting the cuffs of her dress as she moved. "I would rather keep my bag with me." she said. "But if you could show me where I might be able to find the Cherry tree, I would be much obliged." she said politely.

Skylar looked more like a maid than a house guest. Modest in her behavior and style of dress, one wouldn't think of her as someone who made a living off of exorcising demons and spirits.

Skylar looked up into the tree as she approached, offering the spirit a small smile. ""Evening." she greeted, setting her bag down beside her. ""I'm here to ask you a few questions." she said, casually sitting down on the floor beside her bag, admiring the pink blossoms.

She had no reason to exorcise this spirit. She had not been causing trouble, not had the owner of the estate expressed any real annoyance at her presence.

No, What Skylar wanted was to know what exactly the vampire had seen. Why this spirit would know of her and bother warning someone to save her when her job was to rid the world of spirits such as herself. She was much more concerned with this than sending the woman back tot he Nether where she belonged.

"Why warn me?" Skylar asked. "You owe me nothing. If anything, it would seem I am now indebted to you."

A light breeze tossed a few locked of hair free form the loose bun she had it in.

"Are you looking for some form of redemption?" she asked curiously, carefully. She didn't take spectors lightly. Anyone who did was a fool at best, and soon to be dead at near worst.

"No, there's no need to exorcise a spirit that means no harm." Skylar said offering a small smile in return to the woman.

She was, however curious about the angel.

She had never seen one, much less met one before- though she knew they existed.

"She says an angel asked her to warn me." she mused. "Strange, considering they are counted as warriors for the Vatican... If anything, I would expect one of them to try and kill me for stealing their job." she joked lightly.

She pushed her rusty brown hair out of her face and looked to the vampire beside her. "... I wonder what it is the Vatican thinks they might gain by hurting me."

Skylar watched the blossoms fall, a small smile playing at her lips all the while. Sakura flowers were her favorite.

When the vampire offered to bring her back inside she turned her green eyes to him before blinking. "It is a bit cold..." she commented. "But your garden's very relaxing... No offense, but I doubt inside I would feel so at ease."

She explained how his maid put her on edge.

After a moment though she turned to face her host full on, thanking him for his hospitality.

His home was so lifeless though.... It made her anxious. No pets she had noticed, and a feeling of apathy... At least in the garden she had the life of the plants to put her at ease.

Skylar was surprised by the token he placed on her shoulder, pulling it tighter with a small thank you.

"... I doubt your court would be happy knowing you have me here." she said. "I noticed it in her eyes when she realized who I was. I think she's just as hesitant to trust me as I am of her."

She looked up at the moon and sighed. "If it seems i become a burden, tell me." she requested. "I am able to defend myself, and chores are not an issue for me... Seeing as how you are helping me at your own cost, I feel indebted to you. Perhaps there's something I can help you with?" she asked curiously.
