Love's a beautiful thing...until it comes to an end.

My name's Kotone. It means harp sound, giving me the nickname 'Angel.' Angels, harps, they go together like sushi and rice, peanut butter and jelly, black and white, and all that jazz.

So anyway, harps make beautiful noise, right? Well I'm a singer, and that's exactly what I do. I make beautiful noise.

So here's my dilemma:

I'm trapped outside of my dressing room wearing nothing but a fluffy blue robe and matching slippers, waiting for that blockhead of a manager I have to show up with the spare key. Problem here? I go on in thirty minutes! Cutting it close much? I still needed to change clothes, get my hair and nails done, and finish my makeup. So not likely! God, it's hard being famous. Every little thing stresses you out and you start to get these yucky little wrinkles under your eyes called bags, and you have to put iced cucumbers on them so the swelling goes down. Totally gross. And I don't even like cucumbers! Anyway, that's not the point. The point is that I'm on in half an hour and I'm completely naked besides this tiny little robe, which by the way hardly covers much. Wouldn't you be pissed too? I think so.

I impatiently stand outside of my dressing room, irritated by the fact that the staff had somehow managed to lose the key for the third time this week. I mean, c'mon? How hard is it to keep a key for Christs' sake? We really needed new workers around here.

After what seems like hours I finally hear footsteps coming toward me from behind, and I smile wickedly to myself. Finally someone I can totally chew out.

"Do you have any idea what time it is?" I snap, turning swiftly on my heel to face whoever it was that was standing behind me. "I go on in-" I suddenly stop mid-sentence and my jaw drops as I stand dumbfounded. Who was this guy? He wasn't my manager! Why was he backstage? Well whatever his reasonings were, they better be damn good because I am so not in the mood right now.

I give the stranger a dirty look and put my hands on my hips, my eyebrows raised impatiently as I waited for an explanation.

I was back stage as I was the drummer/ back up lead guitarist if needed, for the band opening for some singer. I didn't really care, I just liked making music so I didn't really keep up with who we were opening for or how good we were, I just played. In anycase our band, "Requiem" ((Couldn't really think of a name on the spot Sad

)) was in the top five bands in the nation...but whatever.

I tossed my blonde hair out of my face and promptly looked in front of me as someone started to snap at me. I ignored what she said as I saw a girl in just robe. I looked at the room she was in front of and could only guess that SOMEhow she was locked out. I completely ignored her other wise as I pulled a paperclip from my bracelet, yet I had a paper clip bracelet, it was a gift from one of the fans, and quickly picked the lock to her door and said, "Enjoy, better hurry." I said, my voice smooth like velvet and reasonably deep, but not overly so. It was enough to make most girls swoon, but meh. She stared at me for a bit and I stared calmly back, waiting for her to go into the room.

As the blonde man approached I did my best keep my expression stern, but there was
something about him I just couldn't quite place my finger on. What was it that seemed so familiar about this guy?

I shifted my attentions from his golden locks to the paper clip he was now skillfully using
to pry the lock open. A small clicking sound was heard, followed by a low thud, and I
watched as he effortlessly pushed the door open for me. Who the heck was this guy?

"Uhm excuse me...who are you?"

I smirked as I looked down at her, "Tohma." Was all I said. I could see her struggling to place where she had seen me before and I chuckled mentally. I could hear our lead singer, Shuichi calling. "Well I have to go. Enjoy, *I looked her up and down* getting dressed." I gave her a wink and walked toward the singer. He was a shorter guy with semi spiked black hair and brown eyes. He gave me a hyper mooded hug. "We are almost done with our show, come on, it's time for your drum solo song." He reminded me of a child sometimes.

Shuichi and I go back to childhood. He was like a little brother to me, even though he was older by a year. "Ok, come on Chibi-kun." I said and he sighed softly. I patted his head and we walked on stage with our guitarists and the crowd went wild. Wheeler, out lead guitar and his brother Joey on bass, waved as they both took a bow. They looked almost identical, except their hair color. They always died it different from each other. Tonight Wheeler was fire engine red and Joey was NEON green. Shuichi made his normal intro of thank you's and hello's. We had had to take a break because a bottle got thrown in wild excitement and nearly hit Wheeler. Now we were back on for the rest of our opening.

Finally as our last song we played one of the fan favorites, "Through Flames." Most everyone thought it was a sappy love song for a chick, but in reality it was the brotherhood we all shared among us as a band. Starting with the Shuichi and me and how we met Wheeler and Joey, but nobody really picked up on that. It was still our biggest song. Each person had a solo, and I was last. The crowd was silent for a moment and erupted into cheers. We all stood up, sweating and waved to our fans. Shuichi then said, "Now the person you really came to see will be on shortly." He gave them his traditional cutesy exit and skipped off stage while the rest of us waved and walked off.

I could feel the heat rise to my face, and my cheeks burned as he blatantly looked
me up and down. What a pervert! I clenched my first and pursed my lips, watching
as he smirked and walked away to meet what looked like a member of one the bands
opening for me.

An opener! That must have been why he looked so familiar. Was he the lead singer?
I couldn't quite remember where I'd seen his face before...

It didn't matter. I was sure to run into him once the show was over. Until then, I needed to get ready PRONTO.

--The concert---

I could hear the announcement of my entrance as I walked up the steps to the stage,
pausing before making my appearance. I wondered if the stranger from earlier would
be watching, or if he would head straight to the after party. I wanted to thank him for
saving my performance.

Taking a deep breath, I readied myself for the roaring crowd, grinning from ear to ear
as they cheered and screamed and applauded for me. This was what I lived for.
Performing, singing, dancing--it was everything to me.

I lost myself in the music.

((It's all good. I tried to respond yesterday, but got drgged away to help with work stuff everytime I sat down lol))

From back stage I watched as the girl, She had a beautiful voice, too bad her music wasn't really my style. So I simply drowned out the not so great drummer who was slightly behind the pace and the lead guitarist was merely playing power chords and the bassist didn't really have a part at the moment. I simply focused on her voice and I smirked. "She's not bad." I turned to see Joey, Shuichi and Wheeler all standing there giving me puppy eyes. "What?" "Can we go to the party now? Our fans are waiting!" Shuichi said as he latched onto my arm. "Go ahead. I'd like to stay here and watch the finale. I have a weird feeling." Shuichi's eyes widened and he said, "Well we can stay here then."

"No it's fine. Go have fun guys, ou all earned it." I gave them a smile that ALWAYS persuaded them to do what I wanted. "Oh fin Tohma." They all left and I turned my head back to the stage. She could see me if she looked over, but the audience would not be able to see me. I would not want to ruin her show. My manager came out, "Tohma! What are you doing? You should be signing autographs! Not watching some two bit band." He was a portly man and he had a huge unlit cigar in his mouth. "Sir, they are far from a two bit band. Their singer is amazing, the rest are just having an off night it seems. Besides, I have a photoshoot tomorrow, I'm sure I'll end sighning plenty there." My manager looked at me, "Yeah, you'll probably end up on the cover of some glamor magazine by yourself half naked and continually be on the run from females trying to rape you. Then the bands photoshoot will give you guys more fame and make me more money." He waddled away. I glared at him. He did his job well, but only because he was so greedy and crude. I sighed and watched as the concert was drawing to a close. O wondered if she recognized who I was yet.

"THANK YOU ALL, SO MUCH!!" I shouted through a dazzling grin, feeling the rush I loved the most as the crowd screamed and cheered for me. It was the feeling I got, an electricity almost, that coursed through my body and left my hair standing on end that kept me coming back for more. It was thrilling, exciting, and my greatest passion in life.

Too bad my band members just couldn't seem to get it together. We'd been on the rocks lately, and it wasn't looking so great. The guitarist and drummer but heads all the time, and the bassist was left caught in the middle of all their catty little fights. I swear, they acted like high school boys sometimes, and I often gave them a piece of my mind to let them know how stupid they were being. Regardless, being around them was like walking on egg shells, and if I didn't have a band I'd be in trouble...

"You've all been so great, I wouldn't be here without all you wonderful fans!! I love you guys!!!"

With that I waved and turned on my heel, making my exit from the stage and roar of the crowd and back to reality. I sighed and smiled, relieved that the show went so well even with the band members struggles. I'd feared it wouldn't go so smoothly...

As I reached the side of the stage I momentarily paused, gawking at the blonde haired man as he grinned slyly at me. What was he doing here? I thought surely he'd be at the after party by now, his band finished playing 2 hours ago...In an instant I shook myself from my thoughts, realizing I was still in public view, and scurried to the safety of the curtains.

"Uhm, hi," I greeted him, still a bit out of breath from the performance. "So, did you enjoy the show?"

"Not particularly." I said being honest, as was my tradition on most days. "Your bassist doesn't really have many parts, your lead doesn't really seem to care and plays things an untrained monkey can play. Your drummer, he's slow and doesn't move with the pace of the band. You're singing is the only thing really worth listening to, but due to the rest of the band's not up to snuff bit of things, it falls with them. A band is only as strong as it's weakest player."

I looked down at her, a calm expression on my face just as Shuichi, Joey, and Wheeler walked up with a couple of girls and one rather girly boy. "Tooohmaaaaaa-kun." Shuichi called out. "These three really really wanted to meet you. They flew across the ocean to come hear you drum." The two girls were wearing rather revealing clothing and too much make-up while the boy blushed and wore conservative clothing. The girls instantly squealed and began hanging all over me. I mentally rolled my eyes and then looked to the boy, "And what's your name lad?" I asked, extracting myself from the teenaged vice grips. I moved closer to Angel.

"I-I'm Xa-Xander." he stammered out and I smiled and put my finger under his chin as he stepped closer and then I whispered in his ear, "You should be a little braver with what you want to say." I patted his head and said, "Well it's nice to meet you girls, but I have someone I need to escort back to their dressing room. Perhaps we'll see you after next show." I waved and waited for Angel to walk in front of me. "Ladies first." I said and bowed in a gentlemanly fashion, making the girls, and Xander squee.

I visibly flinched. His words stung, but they held a truth to them. With all the bickering and fighting and down right nastiness my other band members shared, it was starting to affect their ability to perform. And that was something I just could not have.

My lips parted in response, but I was quickly cut off by some backstage fans that had arrived with other members of the blonde's band. I realized I still hadn't caught his name. Was it Tohma? That was what is band mate had called him.

It was to be expected the groupies would latch onto their idol, and I snickered as he managed to slip from their grasps and inched closer to me. Thus was the life of a star. The boy that has approached, however, remained in the background, shy but clearly thrilled by meeting his favorite musician. He blushed as Tohma addressed him, patted his head, and excused himself. Sneaky devil, using me as an escape route.

"Why thank you very much," I replied, shooting him a sly smile as I moved carefully past him. The fans squealed and I barely contained my laughter.

Tohma smirked and followed Angel through the corridors, "So what are your plans to celebrate your kick off for your newest tour?" He asked, staring at her intently as he did with most people he felt could hold an intelligent conversation. He gazed into her eyes, almost like he was trying to hypnotize her, even though he wasn't. He had thoughts running through his head. What should Requiem do for their new tour, since they were pretty much opening for her every time. Maybe some new pyrotechnics? ((sorry it's so short...brain lapse))

"To celebrate? Well, you know, I'm not sure..." I replied, trailing off, losing myself in my own thoughts. My manager would want me to go to that after party to sign autographs, take picture, meet the fans, etc, but I honestly didn't feel like dealing with any of that. After such a disappointing performance, regardless of the fact that the fans loved it, I didn't want to end my night listening to more bickering between my band mates.

"Are you going to that after party?"

I assumed he would be, seeing as his band mates had left him earlier for that very reason. Since his band was still trying to make it to the top charts, it was safe to presume he would be ending his night there as well.

He smirked, "Not at all. I let the older ones deal with it." He said with a very devious, yet child-like grin. "I have to be up early for a photo shoot tomorrow anyway. That's all I get to do tomorrow so I plan on going to a restaurant and enjoying a meal. He ran his left hand through his blond locks smiled, revealing what almost looked like fangs, although they were just exceptionally long, and sharp, canines. "Feel free to join me if you like." He said as he began to walk out of the door, texting on his phone. Despite being a pretty big band, he was the only one who didn't flaunt it. He had a simple phone, simple clothing; even his car, when he actually drove it was simple. He sent a text to Wheeler, Joey and Shuichi. He slid the phone shut before putting it in his pocket. He looked back to see if Angel was following.

I reached my hand out toward his moving figure, stopping as he halted at the door before us. "Hey, wait," I blurted out, bringing my hand quickly back down to my side in embarrassment. I could feel my cheeks burning, and I cast my eyes downward and away from his sly grin. I stumbled forward, nodding my head in response to his offer. How idiotic I was acting around this man...There was no longer anything graceful about me as I followed awkwardly after him.

"Uhm...where did you have in mind to eat?" I asked, my voice soft and mousy. It was so unlike my usual confident, albeit demanding tone. God, I was an idiot.

Tohma smirked as he watched the oh-so composed Angel fall apart like a cookie that was left in milk too long. As he continued to walk, now that she had caught up to him, he answered her question, "Just a simple out of the way Asian Buffet. It has wonderful food, a wide variety and small portions so it is always fresh. They have Sushi, Sashimi, and Mongolian." He walked to the parking lot and found his car.

He opened the door for Angel and let her get in to the black leather interior before he got in the driver's seat and secured his belt. The engine purred to life as the V6 engine awoke. He smiled a bit and pulled out of his spot before asking, "Did you want to stop anywhere and change or just go like you are?" He asked as he pulled out onto a back road, which was relatively empty of people.

"Wow," I murmured, flashing a smile toward Tohma as he took his place in the driver's seat next to her. "You have a very nice car."

And very nice manners. Though I expected my doors opened by my driver whenever I traveled, it was nice to have someone (whose job wasn't to cater to me) sending a nice gesture my way. What a gentleman.

"I suppose we should change...We look a bit flashy now to be dining in public, don't you think?" I asked, gazing down at the sequined bodice I was wearing. I hadn't stopped by my dressing room to change, but neither had Tohma. I hadn't even informed my manager I'd left. Not that that idiot needed to know.

I made a mental note to fire him during our next conversation. He was too much of a scatter brain, which was not in my best interest. Maybe I should start looking for new band members as well...

Tohma smirked, "No need, the place I go to, everybody dresses a little eccentric. It's kind of like a code, then nobody, famous or no, stands out." He was wearing black jeans that fit his hips snugly, which you could just see the hem of his black boxers peering out, and black combat boots that laced up to his knees. He had on a black arm band over his left bicep and a white over his right. He wore a black head band over his forehead, but that did not cover his hair and no shirt. His eyes were out lined in ornate make up, and he had a piercing in the middle of his lip, a simple silver hoop.

"Unless you really want to go change we can just go straight there." He said as he pulled out his spot.

I glanced down at the revealing outfit I sported and bit my lip. The costumes I wore for my performances were always beautiful, and this time was no exception to that rule. The bodice hugging my breasts and rib cage was beautifully adorned with topaz jewels, a trick to catch the stage lighting and give off a sparkle as I performed. My skirt decorated with pure white feathers, and while it flattered my small figure it didn't leave much to the imagination. And my shoes? Heels that were sky high and also adorned with the same blue, sparkling jewels.

"As long as I'm not mistaken for a stripper," I laughed nervously, knowing that unless I was recognized my clothing could easily mislead...

Tohma laughed softly and glanced over from the road just briefly and said, "Trust me, I think you'll be fine." His grin said he had something else running through his head that only he knew. >>>>>>>

Tohma pulled up to a semi lighted parking lot that was moderately busy and the crowd was eccentrically dressed to say the least. Some looked like people from Rocky Horror Picture Show, others looked like things from other movies and some looked like other singers from past performances. "See? You'll fit right in." He chuckled and exited the car and came over opening Angel's as well. He even offered his hand to help her out of the low car, since he had noticed she was wearing heels.

"OI! Tohma!!" Someone from the crowd called. He turned, his hand still held out and he saw a former manager. His eyes darkened, but he still held a mostly friendly look on the rest of his features, "Garrison." The man had shaggy greyish hair with a five o'clock shadow and he smelled of booze...which wasn't unnatural for this man. "Is that any way to treat an old friend?" He asked Tohma, a somewhat lecherous look in his eyes as he spotted Angel. "I don't know, is molesting one of the people you manage anyway to treat anyone?" Tohma's voice was calm and civil, but the underlying aura was enough to chill the man as he locked his eyes on Tohma's. "Go your own way and we can all have a pleasant night."

My chocolate orbs darted this way and that, taking in the eccentric scene that lay before me. It looked like a Halloween party out here! I'd never seen so many people dressed in such peculiar clothing, and I wondered just what kind of party he'd brought me to.

At that moment I spotted a man who seemed familiar, though by his appearance and foul stench I decided he could not be someone I'd had in my past company. He looked shaggy, disgruntled, and when his eye met my bare skin I slunk behind Tohma uncomfortably.

"Uhm...who is this man?" I whispered over his shoulder.

He offered his arm and looked around, looking to see if there was anymore trouble to be had. Since he didn't see any, he relaxed a tiny bit. A man with solid raven black hair and almost black eyes said in a slight Asian accent, "Hello Tohma. It's been while. You bring a friend here to enjoy my food? You are too kind to an old man." He smiled warmly at Tohma. "Nonsense. How many times did you feed Shuichi and me before we made it big?" He too smiled at the old man, "Angel, This is Mr. Matsusashi."

Someone I did not want to associate myself with? By the appearance and obvious scent of the man, I nodded in agreement. Still his face seemed so familiar...

In any case, I shook the thought away and took the arm Tohma offered me. As we walked further we came across someone whom Tohma must have known, for he approached us with a warm smile.

"Hello Tohma. It's been while. You bring a friend here to enjoy my food? You are too kind to an old man." He smiled warmly at Tohma.

"Nonsense. How many times did you feed Shuichi and me before we made it big?" He too smiled at the old man, "Angel, This is Mr. Matsusashi."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Matsusashi," I greeted, bowing in respect for the elderly man. In contrast to the scraggly man we had just passed, this man's eyes shone with kindness, and it brought a smile to my face.

((Picture Master Roshi's voice from DBZ lol I dunno why)) Tohma followed Matsu, gracefully weaving through the people , making sure Angel could keep up. Matsu led them both to a traditional looking room that had low tables for eating and pillows to sit on. "I get my grandson to serve you. He has been wanting to meet you for a while now Tohma. I just wish he'd like to be with us as much as he like his video games." Tohma smiled softly, "I'm sure he'll grow out of it, he's got a wonderful teacher and role model to look up to, he'll come around." Matsu smiled, "Maybe you could give him a push in the right direction?" The old man's eyes held a devious, but benign glint. "I'll do my best sir." Matsu handed them menus and went to fetch his grandson.

Tohma didn't even look at the menu, "If you like Sushi, this is the best place to get it. The Spicy Salmon roll is delectable, I always get that. They've also got Mongolian and a variety of other things." He said, he seemed to lose some of his aloofness now that he was here, almost like he were at home..

I couldn't help but smile at their exchange, the words held fond emotion that could only stem from an old, dear friendship between the two of them. I nodded in thanks as Matsu handed me a menu, and watched in amusement as he scurried off to find his grandson.

"I love sushi," I smiled in response, tearing my gaze from the old man who was now across the room and locking eyes with the man who was sitting in front of me. Tohma...I hadn't noticed how attractive he was, and as I felt the color begin to rise to my cheeks, I cast my eyes downward toward the menu before me.

"Spicy salmon, huh...Spicy scallop is my favorite."

Tohma felt Angel's gaze and glanced over to her inconspicuously, noting the red in her cheeks, but said nothing. He heard footsteps and knew it would be Matsu's grandson, just judging by the slightly irritated stomp. "Hello, I'm Eiji, I'll be your server today, can I start you off with anything to...oh my god." As Eiji walked in he had been bored and slightly disgruntled, but upon seeing Angel and Tohma, his hazel eyes lit up. He was probably about 16, with fire engine red hair, and a band aid across his left cheek. "Have you been getting into fights recently or is that a new fashion statement?" Tohma asked him with a smirk. He hadn't seen Eiji since he was in diapers...not a pleasant thought right before dinner. "I...I....I...." The poor boy seemed to be star struck as he looked to the two celebrities.

"Are a wonderful waiter, just take a deep breath and relax." Tohma said, his voice low and persuasive. Eiji did as he was told and said, "May I start you with something to drink and maybe an appetizer?" He seemed to be his normal self again. Tohma motioned to Angel, "Ladies first. Or do you still need time?"

My momentary fluster vanished at the reaction of our server, whom I assumed
was Mr. Mastu's grandson, and I stifled the chuckle that wanted to escape my lips.
The boy seemed like a character, bright red locks, a bandage on his face--harmless
enough. His star struck expression caused me to suppress another giggle.

"I'll have a Sapporo, please," I replied politely. The boy had apparently regained his
composure, and I smiled as I glanced down at the menu once more. I still hadn't
decided on anything in particular, but I was starving. I figured I would eat anything
at this point, though the succulent aroma when we walked in left me no doubt that everything
here would be quite delicious.

"As far as an appetizer goes, why don't you order something you think I'd like, Tohma?
Since you seem to be quite the regular, here," I teased.
